Postby MisterBo on Tue Aug 26, 2008 11:54 am

Due to a conversation I had yesterday on the best fleet to occupy a UC base, I ran the numbers.

These numbers are run with UC techs given to both the attacker and defender. There are no CCs given to the defender. Make sure to run your own numbers with the appropriate number of CCs when calculating an attack.

Fighters

Good Against: Bombers, Heavy Bombers, Ion Bombers, Destroyers

Bad Against: Heavy Cruisers, Battleships, Dreadnoughts, Titans, Leviathans, Death Stars

Why use them? Fighters are good meat shields, they keep other ships/defensive structures alive a little longer. They are vital when using big ships (Titans, ...

First Seven Days by Bo Ver. 1.0

Postby Brand on Fri Aug 22, 2008 10:59 pm

Overview

The decision you make the first seven days can make a big difference for someone with a free account. If you have an upgraded account, you can build a base any time you have the credits. But you can never build more than 9 bases if you have a free account. So if you can get 10 of 11 bases before your free 7 day upgrade runs out, you are way ahead of the ...

Free Account Building Guide

Postby Brand on Fri Aug 22, 2008 11:01 pm

Here are my recommendations on astro selection for a free account. There are differing opinions, but I believe these balance your needs for economic growth, production capacity, research capabilities, and defensive requirements.

Please note that when I make recommendations and it is a list or has options, I place my preference first.

Alright now it time to go on to getting defense and fleet up

For level under 20 you need to have 10 photon turrets 1000 fighters on each base and be researching disrupters. You should try to get 1k income at the same time and 7 command centers. If you upgraded work on this while working on defense and research and get 14 planets.

Introduction:

What to Read:

Read the tutorial and study the game's table while those first buildings build (both of these links are up at the very top of the page). The table basically explains the tech tree and what you'll need to build to unlock certain buildings and ships. Some parts of the tutorial will be over your head at the moment (all the equations for certain game actions for example) but you'll be better off for knowing where to find them in the future.

While a lot of us already know all this, I think it's easy to overlook some of the raw facts about Command Centres - both in terms of using them yourself on your own bases, and being "fearful" of an enemy base with a lot of command centres. There's important facts about Command Centres that underlie all of this:

* Command centres only affect the base owner.

* Command centres only affect fleet (not turrets)

* Command centres increase the "attack power" of the fleet ...
